Promoting Women in Science
The AWAP was founded in response to a worrying reality: women remain under-represented in the majority of scientific disciplines (particularly in Archaeology and Paleontology as well as in related research fields) and have less access to higher responsibilities than men.

AWAP is aimed at the scientific research and higher education community, but also at anyone sensitive to issues of gender equality in Science.

Conference 2023
After the success of the first two editions in 2021 and 2022, the Virtual Conference for Women Archaeologists and Paleontologists is back in 2023 to offer early-career women researchers the opportunity to gain visibility by presenting their research and to reflect on gender issues and the place of women in these disciplines.
